Terms

When your container is delivered, you will be asked to sign an agreement covering the use of the container. In addition, it will define what waste materials are not allowed to be disposed of as normal waste. We are constrained by the the same rules and regulations as you, or anyone else using the Cecil County Solid Waste Facility. If you are loading the container, you are responsible for ensuring that none of these materials are disposed of in the container.

PLEASE NOTE the following are not accepted in the container at the landfill:

* Tires, propane tanks and car batteries
* Hazardous material or liquids
* Paint (unless dried with kitty litter or on carpet)
* Yard waste must be hauled separately
* Appliances must be loaded in the back of the container near the door.

  1. Please call if you have any doubt regarding the items being loaded and whether or not the landfill will accept those items. The additional charges incurred from unacceptable waste will be passed on to the customer.

  2. Customers are responsible for items in the containers from the time of delivery to the time of pickup.

  3. Do not load materials above the "maximum loading height". Overfilled containers will be charged $150 and will not be removed.

  4. Permits are the customer's responsibility and are usually required within town limits.

  5. Please call if you finish with the container earlier than expected. Your container will automatically be picked up after 10 days, unless you instruct our office otherwise.

  6. Customers will be held responsible for any damage to our containers (i.e. large dents, holes, etc.) and will be invoiced for repair work. Once we have placed the container, DO NOT MOVE OUR CONTAINER.

  7. Orange Cans, Inc. will make every effort to prevent damage to asphalt and concrete driveways as well as lawns. Orange Cans, Inc. however, is not responsible for property damage due to placement or pickup of our containers.

  8. A Credit Card is required for all transactions to use for overages, etc.

The Cecil County Landfill does accept most of these materials separately and they have regularly scheduled hazardous waste days. See these links for additional information about using the landfill.
